What we do right now in agriculture, matters most for planet Earth. This is the main point I came away with after reading; “Will agriculture save the planet before it destroys it?”
This provocatively titled story published in the January 2016 edition of Wheat Life Magazine (wheatlife.org), shares the content of a speech made by Jack Bobo, senior vice president of Intrexon – a synthetic biotechnology company, at the 2015 Tri-State Grain Growers Convention.
Bobo says the next 35 years in agriculture are crucial regarding; (among other things)
- world population growth,
- increased food production,
- trends in global farming,
- the need for policy based on fact and not perceptions.
