Nutrition Survey 2001-2010

Current U.S. dietary guidance includes recommendations to increase intakes of both dietary fiber and whole grain with at least half of all grains consumed being whole grains.

This recommendations come from the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (2001–2010) and are based on low current intakes and associations with lower chronic disease risk, weight management benefits and better diet quality.
